Ronny Maepa

Maatla Aaron Maepa was born on 31 January 1955 at Soekmekaar (Sekgosese) in the village Ga-Mamaila. He completed his schooling at Hlabirwa School of Commerce in 1992. 

Ronny enrolled with the Central University of Technology (Free State) where he obtained his B Tech: Agriculture Management degree in 2000. In 2001 he enrolled with the University of Stellenbosch and Rand Afrikaans Universiteit (RAU) and obtained Project Management Certificates from both institutions. Other Certificates obtained include, Policy Development and Management (Regenesys School of Public Management), Membership: Agricultural Economics Associations of South Africa (AEASA), Middle Management Support Group MASDAR (DFID Programme), Gender Training: SA Management Development Institute (SAMDI). He recently completed  reading for his Master of Development (M.Dev) Degree from the University of Limpopo. 

Ronny has spent his career spearheading the interests of  workers as a shop steward and has built good working relationships through dialogue. In 1999 he was elected into the PSA by the then Capricorn Branch. He served in this position until the restructuring of the PSA when he was elected Limpopo (Provincial) GPSSBC Chairperson, a position he still holds. He represented the PSA in the Departmental Task Team (DTT) during the implementation of Resolution 7/2002 and is a member of the provincial strike committees. He is currently serving on the PSA’s Remuneration Committee (REMCO) dealing with honoraria (remuneration) of the PSA's Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Provincial Pensions Task Team (PPTT) which deals with facilitation and monitoring progress of the implementation of Resolution 12/2002, representing the PSA.

As a shop steward, Ronny is still representing fellow-PSA members during hearings and interviews.
