




Maseo Paulus Sello was born on 4 April 1950. After completing Matric through private studies, he obtained a BA Degree in 1988 and BA Honours Degree (Penology) from Unisa in 1991. He is working towards a LLB degree.
Paul has been attached to the Department of Correctional Services since January 1972 and was Commander of the Zonderwater Prison in Cullinan from March 1996 to September 1998. From September 1998 until February 2005 he was Commander of the Witbank Prison and was transferred to Polokwane as Area Commissioner in March 2005 where his duties include, amongst others, personnel, financial and prison management. He has also successfully completed various career-related training courses.
Apart from his home language, Northern Sotho, Paul is also fluent in Afrikaans, English, Southern Sotho, Tswana, Zulu and Xhosa.
He has been a member of the PSA since 1994 and a member of the PSA’s Board of Directors since 1996. He was elected as Vice-Chairperson of the Board in September 2000 and as Chairperson on 14 September 2004.
